Positioner

Children need a parent's time and love, not the television.

When children are allowed to view violent programs, they become more aggressive, desensitized to real world violence, and may develop a fear of being victimized. Television also promotes risky behaviors by depicting characters doing them, and reinforces stereotypes. Children are likely to reproduce behavior they see on TV by observational learning, meaning that they need to be closely monitored. If they spend more than 4 hours/day watching TV, they are also more likely to be overweight. Children already watch TV an average of 2-4 hours a day.

Children should only be allowed a couple of hours of television a day, tops. Parents should record shows before allowing their children to watch them so that they can cut out commercials. Children don’t understand that commercials are trying to sell you something; they feel that they need whatever they’re seeing. Not only that, they may not understand the concept of replays. The World Trade Center attack was shown over and over again, and children may have thought it was a new event each time. They should not watch the news. Nevar Evar!

Parents should restrict children from viewing violent programs. By providing resources and educating parents, we can ensure children will not likely be exposed to violent and harmful TV programs which can promote risky behaviors.

    Okay, so it sounds like the ten word should be the definition for our project. What do you think of this:

    "Children need a parent's time and love, not the television."

    Something along those lines. Putting the entire scene into perspective, instead of focusing on one aspect.

    Any ideas for a team identity?

    Do you mean Pandora's Box? Candor is being frank or unbiased, candoras isn't a word, and Pandora is from Greek mythology.

    We could go with "Clarity" or something easy like that, I dunno. Pandora's Box is fitting too, since we're talking about television, and it really is kinda like opening Pandora's box.

    ok well my schedule is wed i can meet at so what about this thursday at lunch we can get together and do the client brief sorry i have been busy as all get out with my work and school and 2 kids so i apoligize for not getting much done. we can meet this thursday at lunch or next tuesday at lunch what do you think

    I definitely emailed them everything, but we haven't posted on their blog. They wanted us to post team name and 10 words on their blog, but we never agreed on a good team name. Just using our names isn't really creating a team name...

    I would prefer to communicate in person. Chatting online isn't that great. I can meet on Tuesday at 12pm to 1pm, as well as Wednesday. I'll get my own draft prepared tomorrow, and we can merge everything together. I've been waiting to do that since we need to identify our team name first.

    I do get on everyday, just not always time to figure out anything like schedules, so I haven't replied.
