Forgot to post this, haha.

Project Type: Public Service Announcement
Client/Agency: Too Much TV

Agency Team
MaryAnn Wright
Travis Gerrard

WHERE ARE WE NOW?
Current Situation: Children are watching too much television instead of spending quality time with friends and family. This is stunting growth and dividing families.

WHERE DO WE WANT TO BE?
To ... Parents need to know how television affects children and should spend more time with them.

HOW WILL WE KNOW WE'VE ARRIVED?
Measurement of: How many hours children watch television a day. using a scientific study.

WHAT ARE WE DOING TO GET THERE?
Marketing Strategy
We plan to achieve our objective(s) by: We will create three public service announcements revealing the affects of television on children, and comparing that to how having a close parent affects a child.

Campaign Strategy
Key Messages: Children need a parent's time and love, not the television. Television promotes violent and disrespectful behavior, and stunts social growth.
Key Media: Photography, video, and web.

WHO DO WE NEED TO TALK TO?
Definition of target group: Parents of young children; aged approximately 25-35 years old. Both moms and dads.
Insights into this target group: Computer literate, values time, busy

  1. This looked nicer in the preview thing. Phooey.

Do you find your creative assignment challenging?Yessirs and ma'am. It's hard to operate as a team without an absolute schedule, and the subject itself will take effort to manifest.
Do you have access to information that would give your team the best understanding of your problem?Yes. We have access to studies about this through the internet, and parents who can lend their opinions and experiences.
Do you want to work on the solution to this problem?Yes. It would be great to help give the future generation a better chance.
Are you honestly inspired by the relevant aspects of the solution?I can say that I am. It would be exciting to actually see parents change their methods.
Are you eager to solve this problem in a completely new and surprising manner? But of course. It's something I care about, and you can't change minds with something boring and expected.

Do I win a prize? I said yes to them all! What say you, Sir Gerrard? I believe I shall start off this part:

Describe the problem in one sentence:Parents are allowing their children to watch too much television, be it supervised or unsupervised, and this is causing negative effects on the child's social skills and mental well-being.

Now warp it to the challenge question in the first post :). They might be wanting a more specific question, which I'll be thinking of just in case. I'm not sure if the challenge question is for us, or the target either... Hum.

  5. Wow, our numbers are similar. Verizon?

I'll have the 2000 word story done tomorrow evening. Yes, it's supposed to be a narrative. I started writing it, but I'm scrapping my idea and creating an outline to give it more direction. I'll let it stew in my head tonight.

I emailed JD back. Just waiting to hear where we're meeting.

I think we should look harder into those links they wanted week five too. I'm up to date on the podcasts and now I'm thinking we should go with less obvious sources. We can talk about that later though.

  6. Switched posts around, might look confusing, but the dates and orders were really bothering me. Added more stuff to the blog, reposting my first comment to the "new" place for it.

Meeting in Studio B at 12:30 tomorrow :)

  8. Hey, sorry I didn't get back to you. I didn't expect you to reply in this post, so I wasn't checking it...

Are you free tomorrow evening? If not tomorrow, I'm free Sunday 1-11pm. I'll call you when I get off work tomorrow. We would have to meet somewhere outside of school, but I'm okay with that.
